1. My tastes in music have been very eclectic, having run the gamut in genres throughout my plus years of collecting music. This LP has always been one of my favorites. I first heard the Undertones "Hypnotised" LP shortly after it was released, having been a instant follower of the group after hearing their self-entitled debut LP/5(10).

5. The best songs on this CD are Jimmy Jimmy, My Perfect Cousin and the superb Teenage Kicks, which as the late John Peel said is probably the best pop song ever written. The Undertones showed that punk wasn't just about thrashing and spitting - they wrote and played good tunes and knew how long a song should last and how to finish it with a flourish.4/5(11).

7. The UNDERTONES went through a musical change to something softer and, I guess, in an effort to get more played on the radio and to be more actual pop stars. RED ROCKERS sorta did the same thing, not that many people know of them except maybe if they remember that one off radio hit they had in the early 80's 'China girl' or something/5(53).
