'Slights And Abuse/The Sycophant' are actually two separate albums being released together as Indian's second full-length release. It has a more uptempo style than their previous work, although. Starting with the more urgent “Lust” and the repetitive tribal lurch of “Pigs in Your Open Wound”, The Sycophant starts out, much like Slights and Abuse, but odd interlude “Allotriophagy” mixes things up with a piano and some programming before “Gloat”, like “Fatal Lack”, closes out this side of the CD with a slower, more doom/sludge like tone and chanting, albeit at a trite 5 minutes. At times, Sights and Abuse/The Sycophant reads more like a Bongzilla album in the sense that overall fuzziness and incoherence dissolves any semblance of songs, turning this album into one big mess and yeah, no one should be grabbing a mop anytime soon.
